ISA: The Individual Savings Account is a financial product that was introduced on 6 April 1999 for the purpose of investment and savings with a favourable tax status. ISAs replaced the earlier Personal Equity Plans (PEPs) and Tax-Exempt Special Savings Accounts (TESSAs), and were designed to appeal to a broader range of the population. All income (dividends and interest) and all capital gains are tax-free.
